Dear Local Editor,
i am writing to you to discuss the situation of students having arguments about teachers giving too much homework to students. I would like you to see what i have to say and hopefully put this on the daily paper. Some students say its good to have lots of Homework. But some students say it is bad to have lots of homework. This is what the students said about their opinions.
Some students say that it is good to have lots of homework because it helps them learn more and make them smarter people. They do their homework because they have nothing to do and it helps them stay occupied. They like having the more homework because it challenges them and makes them better students in school and better people when they look to get their own jobs. While some might agree with these opinions, other disagree with them.
Other students like myself, believe that teachers should not give out lots of homework because the students spend long hours doing homework for one or several subjects and they get tired and cant complete them. Some students have other things to do with their day whether its sports, family chores, work, etc.. they have to make time to get everything done and it might agitate them. They might have afternoon sports to do and come home at a late time and have little or no time to do homework. Some might have family business to handle and doing homework is not what they want to deal with. If a student has lots of homework for different subjects, they might not get anytime to finish or time to rest.
Teachers say that homework is necessary when some teachers give students homework on things of a higher level then what they are making it harder or impossible for the student to do their homework. Parents might be asked by their kids to help them with their homework, when they know they have things to do around the house like clean, cook dinner, get the mail, pay bills, go shopping and it helping their kids with homework cuts off their parents time of the many things they have to do as well.
